We Came As Romans explore a rock-ready sound on "I Survive."
Judging by their "Let These Words Last Forever" lyric video, and their Understanding What We've Grown to Be re-issue, we've grown accustomed to the scorched-earth approach from We Came As Romans. But on their third full-length album, Tracing Back Roots, out on July 23 on Equal Vision Records, and their new song, "I Survive," there's a whole other side of the band on display.

Rihanna wasn't J/K-ing about shining bright like a diamond -- HOLY BLING, girl's grill is BEYOND! (Upon our extensive investigative research, aka Google, those diamonds are cushion-cut, which explains why they're so sparkly. #TheMoreYouKnow.) But honestly, we were slightly more distracted by RiRi's two other GIGANTIC assets in this photo -- her equally glammed-out bracelet and chain necklace combo, obvs! Ummm, what did you think we meant!?! (Oh... Er... Well, ahem, those too.)
The "Diamonds" singer shared her sparkly accessory love on Instagram, coupled with the equally bold caption, "I'm an outlaw b***h!!" We're not too sure what law-breaking activity Rihanna's referencing. Maybe it's exposing those lethal abs via her ever-shrinking bikinis? Or, maybe she's referring to her naughty little "botanical" obsession? Orrr, maybe her IDGAF attitude now extends to breaking every regulation set forth by the American Dental Association?? We're pretty sure four out of five dentists would agree that skipping flossing because you're afraid of losing one of your gazillion-karat mouth jewels isn't the wisest path to dental hygiene. Love the grill, RiRi, but just know that we want you to stay... free of plaque.

After all of that monkey business with Justin Bieber and his little primate friend, we kinda wondered if he'd take a break from hanging out with wildlife. But judging by this photo of Justin visiting with a polar bear, captioned "Dream Big," it looks like Justin's animal-loving spirit hasn't been shattered after all! Um, we're hoping Justin's "big dream" isn't about making a pet out of this guy. Sure, the idea of being spooned by a gigantic fluffy bear on a cold winter's night is cute in theory, but we've seen enough Animal Planet to know that those "cuddly"creatures will GUT AND EAT YOU LIKE NBD. So, if you want exotic, stick to to ferrets.

Selena Gomez mourns past relationships in "Sad Serenade."
We're generally used to seeing Selena Gomez looking all, "laughing at the airport with my stepdad," "making 'goo-goo' faces at my baby sister," and "taking reunion selfies with my former 'Wizards Of Waverly Place' co-stars." But that doesn't mean that the girl can't occasionally smudge her mascara/loosen her false lashes with a good puffy-eyed cry over a failed relationship! And although it's set to hazy, synth-laden, bombastic beat, Selena's new jam, "Sad Serenade," is definitely less cheerful than what we've come to expect from the "Come & Get It" singer.

If anyone says that their favorite thing about summer is ice cream and pool parties, then they're lying. The term "sophomore slump" does NOT apply to Ellie Goulding, or her second album,Halcyon. Released last October, we've already been treated to such Halcyon smashes as"Anything Could Happen," the Calvin Harris-assisted "I Need Your Love," and "You, My Everything" which, although technically not on Halycon, was recorded at the same session. Now Ellie's back with the video for her latest Halcyon single, the Ryan Tedder-produced "Burn." And no, sadly this isn't a sparkly synth version of Usher's epic R&B ballad, but rather, in classic Ellie form, it's the perfect blend of pop, synth, and multi-colored glitter. (You hear glitter when you listen to Ellie too, right? That's, like, a normal reaction?)

Former V-Factory member Asher Monroe performed his new single "Hush Hush" at the 2013 O Music Awards, and we were -- how shall we say this eloquently? -- VERY INTO IT. Now, the official "Hush Hush" video has dropped, and it kind of feels like we've been given the last and final piece of the "Hush Hush" puzzle, you know? (What? These things get very emotional for us!)
Oh, and in case you're feeling all like, "WHERE IS ASHER'S DEBUT ALBUM?," here's everything we've got so far: Asher's debut disc is reportedly 99 percent done, is due out this September, has the Monroe and Alon Levitan-copenned "Hush Hush" as the lead track, was executive produced by Chris Brown, and features cameos by Chris, Akon, and Sean Kingston. To which we say, #PRAISE.
Shot in Bosnia and directed by best foreign film Academy Award winner Danis Tanovic, "Hush Hush" features Asher making flirty eyes with a hot chick who just so happens to be driving the largest tractor we've ever seen. Asher follows his love interest, and next thing you know, he ends up in an abandoned warehouse (why do all music videos take place in abandoned warehouses?!) where he continues to search for his lady.

"Moving" seems like the right title for the new single from Travis, the Britpop band that's back after a five-year absence. (Hope they got caught up on "Game of Thrones.") The group -- known for melancholy yet never maudlin classics such as "Why Does It Always Rain On Me" and "Sing" -- seem to be taking a new direction on their comeback set, with the latest track a swift, streamlined pop-rock effort. Still in the mix, of course: singer Fran Healy's golden melodies, pouring through like sun through dark clouds.
Steel Cranes are from Oakland, Calif., but don't expect the duo to get all Bay Area Lil B on you. Tracy Shapiro and Amanda Schukle's two-woman rock assault has more in common with the Melvins or the Black Keys: the slo-mo heaviness of a 2,000-pound pendulum, as much grit as an abandoned highway, and a fearless sense of rock 'n' roll. On "Boat Song," the duo squishes deep into amplifier sludge, Shapiro stomping her wah-wah pedal to the limit as Schukle keeps the cymbal crashes on lock.

When you've reached "Beatle Status" -- ie. that level in your career where you're collaborating with former Beatles members like it's NBD -- we'd only expect the results to be, well, explosive. That's exactly the vibe in electro-house/dance-punk pioneer Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo's (aka The Bloody Beetroots) "Out Of Sight" video, from his upcoming HIDEalbum. Featuring a guest appearance by the one and only Paul McCartney, "Out Of Sight" has Rifo jamming out on guitar and drums, madly spinning dials, and subsequently generating all kinds of fancy pyrotechnics in his trademark Spiderman-ish mask. Meanwhile, Paul materializes to add in a few verses via hologram (which seems to be the way pop stars travel these days), and soon enough, the two have raised so much fiery hell, that we're starting to feel a little hot in the collar over this whole church setting.

When our nation's Independence Day rolls around once a year, we can't help but recall the all-but-dissolved "Party In The U.S.A."-era Miley. You know, Miley back when she she "had a dream and a cardigan," wore cowboy boots instead of gold grills, and actually seemed like she could still be tamed. And seriously, we're not saying that we'd trade this new zero-eff-giving Miley for the girl who once allowed smiles and confetti in her video, but there's definitely something to be said for looking back on old "Party In The U.S.A." times while we're grillin' and chillin' up some vegan veggie burgers and Tofurkey dogs during our Fourth of July BBQ.
